Police: Man’s refusal to take child to hospital endangered 6-month-old
ELKLAND – Cory S. Burrows, 23, of 25 Liberty Road, Nelson, was charged with endangering the welfare of children and reckless endangerment by Lawrence Township police after he allegedly refused to take his 6-month-old infant son to a hospital emergency room while he had a very high fever Jan. 5.
According to documents filed at District Judge Brian Edgcomb’s office, Burrows and the child’s mother were arguing in the car, delaying his taking the child to get medical attention. Eventually, the documents said, he took his baby to the Corning Hospital emergency room. He was issued a summons to appear at a March 14 preliminary hearing.
