Rim burglar gets 4 to 8 years’ jail

A 27-year-old city man will be spending up to eight years in state prison for ripping off parts from vehicles at area dealerships.

Chad Eiswerth, 1303 Market St., was sentenced on Thursday by Judge Marc Lovecchio to four to eight years in state prison and two years probation for charges of burglary, criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking, two counts of receiving stolen property, two counts of theft from a motor vehicle and theft by deception.

Eiswerth was initially apprehended by Muncy Township police for stealing four tires and rims from a new Nissan pickup truck on the lot at Blaise Alexander Nissan in Sept. 2010.

He owes $5,580 in restitution to that dealership and another $1,000 to Murray Motors for other stolen property he was found with.
