Man accused of selling stolen heavy machinery for $10,000
A Moreland Township man faces a felony charge of receiving stolen property for knowingly possessing a $34,000 stolen 2006 Bobcat excavator, state police alleged in court papers.
After obtaining the stolen vehicle, Darrel Leeman Spring, 44, of 155 Herr Road, allegedly sold it to a Muncy-area farmer for $10,000, police said. Police did not say how Spring came in possession of the vehicle, that was owned by Lobar Associates, of Dillsburg, and was stolen from a Dauphin County job site in December 2011.
Police recovered the excavator last November from a property on Dairy Farm Road in Moreland Township.
Following his arraignment before District Judge Jon E. Kemp on March 27, Spring was released on $25,000 bail.
