Man charged with possessing a gun without a license

WELLSBORO – Paul M. Hazelton, 26, of 47 Kennedyville Road, was charged by state police with possession of firearms without a license recently.

According to documents filed at District Judge Rob Repard’s office, police stopped Hazelton for a routine traffic stop for tinted windows on Route 287, Middlebury Township March 8, and were about to issue him a warning when the trooper asked him if he had anything in the car he should know about and Hazelton gave permission to search the vehicle, telling the trooper he had a semi automatic Ruger .40 caliber pistol under the front seat.

He was issued a summons to appear at a May 7 preliminary hearing.
