11 charged with theft in Tioga County courts
WELLSBORO – Eleven individuals recently have been charged with theft, according to documents filed at judges’ offices. They are:
Philip L. Ciarlo, 35, of 75 Pearl St., by borough police on May 6 at 7 Riberolle St. Ciarlo allegedly stole $769 worth of goods from Earl Brooks Sr. Ciarlo also was found to be in possession of a crack pipe. He awaits a June 18 preliminary hearing before Judge Robert Repard.
Margaret E. Arena, 58, of 1969 Charleston Road, is charged with theft, receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy by borough police on Jan. 26 after allegedly leaving Tops Market on 11 Main St. without paying for items. She awaits a June 18 preliminary hearing before Repard.
Christopher C. Hall, 28, of 52 West St., Galeton, is charged with receiving stolen property by Gaines Township police after allegedly breaking into Smitty’s Sporting Goods and stealing six firearms. Hall then sold the guns to Fayes Gun Shop, claiming he had inherited them from his grandfather. Hall awaits a June 18 preliminary hearing before Repard.
Shawn L. White, 24, of 1697 Buckwheat Hollow Road, Lawrenceville, is charged with theft, receiving stolen property and writing bad checks by state police after writing more than $600 in checks for which he had nonsufficient funds during the period of Feb. 22 to March 6, 2012. He appeared at a May 15 preliminary hearing before Judge James Carlson.
Brian A. Dake, 24, of 462 Gulick St., Blossburg, is charged with forgery and theft by state police after allegedly signing his brother Marcus Andrew Dake’s name on checks totaling $820 at First Citizens Community Bank on Jan. 28. He appeared at a May 15 preliminary hearing before Carlson.
Adam C. Corrigan, 31, of 202 Vailtown Road, Liberty, is charged with theft, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief by state police after allegedly stealing two tractors on April 2 from AJ’s Outdoor Power Equipment, 1699 S. Main St., Richmond Township. He appeared at a Wednesday preliminary hearing before Carlson.
Kelsey C. Chapman, 19, of 4922 Pulaski Ave., Philadelphia, is charged with retail theft by state police after allegedly stealing $241.28 in merchandise from Wal-Mart in Richmond Township on May 13. Chapman appeared at a Wednesday preliminary hearing before Carlson.
Dylan J. Cavanaugh, 19, of 970 E. Hill Road, Covington, is charged with theft by deception, receiving stolen property and retail theft by state police after allegedly receiving $46.14 after returning items he didn’t pay for on May 1. He awaits a June 19 preliminary hearing before Carlson.
Mark Slocum, 45, of 101 Baker Ave., Elkland, is charged by Osceola Township police with forgery, theft and writing bad checks after allegedly stealing his wife’s paycheck and cashing it at Big M Market on Feb. 17. He awaits a June 11 preliminary hearing before Judge Brian Edgcomb.
Leo W. Pierce, 25, of 106 Mill St., Apt. B, Westfield, and Diane L. Fisher, 49, of 451 Route 6 West, Galeton, are charged by borough police with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property after allegedly stealing a car and crashing it into a ditch on April 6. They were issued summonses to appear at preliminary hearings today before Edgcomb.
