7 accused of shoplifting
Seven people have been charged with shoplifting, five of them at Kmart, 1915 E. Third St, according to court records. Those charged at Kmart by state police were:
Sean David Beam, 31, of 3570 Dewey Ave., Cogan Station; fourth offense; caught allegedly trying to steal two cellphones on May 22; also charged with receiving stolen property and possession of an instrument of crime (a knife); free on $2,500 bail.
David Benjamin Weidler Jr., 22, of 1622 Memorial Ave.; allegedly attempted to steal a $199 bike on May 10; second offense; sent a summons to appear before a judge.
Keegan David Carey, 24, of 461 Green Hollow Road, Montoursville, and Brennan Douglas Cioffi, 23, of 323 Westland Ave., DuBoistown; both allegedly stole $480 worth of merchandise on April 9; the two sent summons to appear before a judge.
James Paul Huffman Jr., 23, of 2905 Pine Ridge Road, Montoursville; caught allegedly trying to steal $230 worth of merchandise on April 5; released on $2,500 bail.
Also charged with the same offense were:
Juwannda Ciera Mintz, 20, of Philadelphia; city police at Kohl’s, 251 William St.; caught allegedly trying to steal $268 worth of merchandise on June 12; jailed that night in lieu of $8,000 bail.
- Timothy Maddox, 24, homeless; third offense; city police at Wegman’s, 201 William St.; caught attempting to steal a set of headphones for $7 on May 31; jailed that day in lieu of $8,000 bail.
