Motorist accused of 4 gas thefts
A 19-year-old motorist faces charges for fleeing the Turkey Hill gas station at 300 Broad Street in Montoursville without paying for gasoline he pumped into his car on four separate occasions, borough police alleged in court papers.
Austin Timothy Shipton, of 1296 Market St., South Williamsport, pumped $40 to $45 worth of gasoline into his vehicle four times between Jan. 21 and late March, police said. Each time, he fled without paying, police said.
Following his recent arraignment before District Judge Gary A. Whiteman on four misdmeanor counts of theft, Shipton was released on $2,500 bail.
