Trout Run area man accused of inhaling solvents twice in day
A Trout Run area man was locked up Tuesday afternoon on two counts of illegal use of solvents after he twice inhaled noxious substances from aerosol cans, city police said.
After he was seen inhaling from a can and then rolling on the grass in the 100 block of East Fourth Street about 9 a.m., Tyler Lee Greene, 21, of 2153 Lower Bodines Road, was initially taken to police headquarters and then later released to a friend at 314 Locust St., Patrolman M. D. Miller said in an affidavit.
Greene was told that he would be charged at a later date and that he should remain inside the friend’s house “for his own safety,” Miller said.
However, shortly before 1 p.m., Greene was spotted using solvents a second time, causing him to pass out briefly outside his friend’s home.
Following his arraignment before District Judge James H. Sortman on the two misdemeanor counts, Greene was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $3,000 bail.
