Woman accused of obtaining drugs with forged prescription

A city woman has been jailed on charges of obtaining 120 percocet tables with a forged prescription slip at CVS on Lycoming Creek Road, according to Old Lycoming Township police.

Shamika Marie Henderson, 31, of 212 Lumber St., presented the prescription to a pharmacist at the store on April 3, police allege.

After leaving the store, Henderson, who is on probation, went to a second area pharmacy, where she was taken into custody and automatically committed to the Lycoming County Prison on a probation violation.

She recently was arraigned before District Judge James H. Sortman on charges of theft by deception, receiving stolen property and illegally obtaining a controlled substance through fraud or forgery. She remains jailed in lieu of $25,000 bail.
