Woman loaded into ambulance allegedly hands police narcotics
After passing out in her bathroom on Lincoln Drive on April 13, Amber Lee Wood was loaded into the back of an ambulance to be taken to the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
However, before leaving the scene, a state trooper, who had been called to the house at 2046 Lincoln Drive to investigate a report of “a potential overdose,” climbed into the back of the ambulance to question the 30-year-old woman, who had regained consciousness.
Wood immediately reached into her pants pocket and handed the trooper a pack of heroin, according to an affidavit.
Wood, who was treated at the hospital and later released, has been arraigned before District Judge Gary A. Whiteman on a charge of possession of a controlled substance and released on $2,500 bail.
