4 — 1 on bicycle — charged with DUI in Northern Tier

MANSFIELD – Four people were charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants recently. According to documents filed at District Judge James Carlson’s office, they are:

Brian R. Packer, 20, of 87 Mansfield Village Apartments, charged by borough police Feb. 24, after he fell off his mountain bike near 82 S. Main St. Police said a passerby who witnessed the incident, reported he lost his balance and rode around in a circle in the middle of the road three times before crashing onto the pavement. The man, Louis Sick, got him out of the road, as he was unresponsive, to prevent him being hit by a car. Packer waived his June 19 preliminary hearing and was released on $2,500 bail. His county court arraignment was set for July 22.

Shawn M. Kotch, 34, of 128 North Main St., Lot 12, was charged by state police June 7, at North Main and Corey streets, Mansfield, following a traffic stop. He was issued a summons to appear at a July 31 preliminary hearing.

Jessica L. Lehman, 22, of 211 N. Buffalo St., Elkland, was charged by state police at the state police barracks, 1745 Valley Road, Richmond Township, on June 7 after police said she drove there to report an altercation between herself and her father Terry Lehman at his residence in the Mainesburg area. She was issued a summons to appear at a July 24 preliminary hearing.

Thomas R. Castle, 25, of 4852 Ogdensburg Road, Roaring Branch, was charged by Blossburg police on June 18, with public drunkenness, and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Police said he was walking on Gulick Street into Hamilton Township staggering in the roadway. He was released on $1,000 bail and his preliminary hearing held June 26. His county court arraignment was set for July 29.
