Man suffers broken nose in alleged assault

A local man faces charges after allegedly breaking another man’s nose during an argument, according to police.

William Hammond Miller, 56, of 100 Front St. in Linden, has been charged with felony aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment after allegedly assaulting his sister’s boyfriend, according to state police.

State police responded to a reported fight at 218 Front St. in Linden on July 17. There, alleged victim Robert Scott Nicholas told officers that he was punched twice in the face by Miller.

In turn, Miller allegedly admitted that he had hit Nicholas, according to a court record.

Nicholas went to an unnamed hospital, where doctors confirmed he had two broken orbital bones and a broken nose.

Miller was arraigned by District Judge Jerry C. Lepley. He since has been released on $25,000 bail.
