Woman allegedly puts knife to boyfriend’s throat

A domestic situation turned violent early Friday when a woman allegedly placed a butcher knife to her boyfriend’s throat, state police said.

Tinamarie May Wheeler, 18, of 2075 Sheridan St. in Loyalsock Township, was charged with simple assault and harassment after allegedly putting the knife to Robert Rodgers’s throat at their residence about 8:30 a.m., according to an affidavit by Trooper Douglass Hoffman.

While in the basement, Wheeler allegedly held Rodgers’s neck with her left hand and had the knife to his throat with her right hand, according to the trooper’s report.

Police indicated it was a verbal argument that escalated.

Arraigned before District Judge James G. Carn, Wheeler was committed to Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled before District Judge Gary A. Whiteman at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 5.
