Beech Creek man faces theft charges in 2 separate incidents

MONTGOMERY – Two sets of charges have been filed against Clinton County resident Robert Vincent Morgret Jr., including one stemming an early morning burglary at Aubrey’s Shear Vintage Salon on Main Street on June 12, according to state police.

Morgret, 19, of Beech Creek, allegedly stole a $10 ring from the Main Street business, police said. In this case, he has been charged with burglary, felony trespassing, theft and criminal mischief, police said. In the burglary, he caused damage to a cash register and a back door window, police said.

In the other case, Morgret has been charged by state police with receiving stolen property for allegedly having possession of a laptop that was stolen from a car at the Hughesville High School football field in Wolf Township on Sept. 10, 2012.

Police allege Morgret somehow obtained possession of the laptop and then gave it to a juvenile, who kept the stolen item in his home for several days until his mother discovered it and turned it over to police.

Morgret was arraigned last week before District Judge Jon E. Kemp and remains jailed in the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $175,000 bail.
