Elderly passenger listed as critical after crash
UNITYVILLE – An elderly woman was injured critically when the car in which she was riding crashed into a utility pole at Route 42 and Unityville Road Extension in Jordan Township about 1:30 p.m. Monday, state police said in a news release that was issued on Thursday.
Patricia B. Brainin, 83, of Unityville, was reported in critical condition in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, a hospital spokeswoman said Thursday after.
The vehicle was driven by her husband, Carl Brainin, 82, who was treated and later discharged.
Concerning a crash in Williamsport early Wednesday morning, city police released the identities of those involved in a two-vehicle crash at Washington Boulevard and Franklin Street.
Police said John T. Shannon, 33, of 1421 St., was traveling at an excessive speed when his Pontiac Firebird struck a utility pole and slammed into a stopped SUV driven by Ann M. Lamb, 59, of 908 Railway St.
Both drivers were taken to the Williamsport Regional Medical Center as was a passenger in Shannon’s car, Thomas Way, 19, of 1549 Kaiser Ave., South Williamsport, police said.
