Man accused of corrupting morals of a 13-year-old
An Old Lycoming Township man faces charges of unlawful contact with a minor and corrupting the morals of a minor for allegedly asking inappropriate sexual questions of a 13-year-old whom he met on Facebook, according to township police.
Brett M. Smeal, 21, of 1840 Merrill Ave., also encouraged the girl to sneak out of her house and meet him in the area of Sawmill Road in Hepburn Township in mid-June, police said. Smeal also asked the teen to send him photos of her undergarments, police alleged in an affidavit.
He was arraigned last week before District Judge James Carn and committed to Lycoming County Prison but has been released on $25,000 bail.
