Man allegedly damages artwork
MANSFIELD – Charles R. Carl Jr., 26, of 421 W. Main St., Westfield, was charged by state police after he allegedly damaged paintings in a barn at 1547 Dunkleburger Road, Rutland Township.
According to documents filed at District Judge James Carlson’s office, Carl was charged with criminal mischief and harassment June 8, after he damaged art work valued at $2,000 belonging to his mother-in-law Laurie J. Sherrell.
Police said he also threw Sherrell to the floor and pushed her against a glass door on the front porch of her residence.
Carl waived his Aug. 21 preliminary hearing and was released on $2,500 bail. His county court arraignment was set for Sept. 23.
