Man charged after allegedly spitting in correction officer’s face, eyes

WELLSBORO – Scott J. Marshall, 21, of 326 S. Water St., Knoxville, was charged by state police with aggravated harassment by a prisoner after he allegedly spit in a guard’s face last fall.

According to documents filed at District Judge Rob Repard’s office, Marshall was being held at the Tioga County Prison on Oct. 26 when he got into a struggle with several corrections officers.

Another officer came to assist and Marshall allegedly spit into his face and eyes.

Marshall was jailed in lieu of $25,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is Tuesday. He was extradited from Wyoming Correctional Facility, Attica, N.Y., to face charges. According to court documents, he has served a year and eight months of a five-year sentence.
