Police: Woman leaps out window to flee husband

An Old Lycoming Township woman had to jump out a bedroom window in order to escape her abusive husband, township police alleged in court papers.

Noah Stephen Davis, 23, of 2205 Mill Lane, grabbed his wife, Courtney, in a chokehold, causing her to lose consciousness in a bedroom about 11 a.m. Monday, police said.

When the woman came to, she pushed a dresser up against the closed bedroom door so Davis could not get in, police said.

Unable to enter the room, Davis started punching holes in the door, police were told. When the door came off its hinges, Courtney bolted out through a window.

Following his arraignment before District Judge James H. Sortman on charges of simple assault and harassment, Davis was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.
