3 people charged with assault
Assault-related charges have been filed against three people as a result of separate incidents, according to city police.
Kimberly Ann McCray, 20, of 750 W. Edwin St., allegedly attacked a pregnant woman in a parking lot at the Timberland Apartments by punching her in the face three times, throwing her to the ground and kicking her in the stomach three times, police said.
McCray allegedly assaulted Chanel Elliott about 8:45 p.m. on Aug. 30, police said.
When witnesses yelled at McCray that Elliott was pregnant, the assailant said: “I don’t care,” police were told. McCray has been charged with simple assault and reckless endangerment.
In another incident, Duane Allen Solomon, 36, of 673 Ames Place, has been charged with simple assault and harassment for allegedly attacking a friend whom he invited to his home for a night of board games, police said.
When officers arrived at Solomon’s home about 12:30 a.m. on Aug. 28, Ronald Terry’s face was “covered with blood” and Solomon was standing shirtless in a yard “with his fists clenched,” according to an affidavit.
Solomon had invited Terry to his home, but he became upset and began fighting WITH Terry after he “made a telephone call to a a drug dealer in an attempt to buy crack,” police were told.
Another visitor told police that Solomon lost his temper because he “was drunk.”
In the third case, Lennon J. Guzman, 22, of 308 Louisa St., has been charged with simple assault, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief after allegedly throwing Cash Peterman off his front porch at 684 Mark Ave. about 1:20 a.m. on Aug. 4, city police said.
The mischief charge stemmed from Guzman allegedly kicking in Peterman’s front door. Guzman and his mother brought Peterman’s wife, Peggy, home, and when she could not get in the house because she did not have a key, Guzman kicked in the door, causing about $829 in damage. Guzman’s mother and Peggy are sisters, police said.
All three have been sent summonses to appear before District Judge James Carn.
