Department, grocery stores attract accused shoplifters
Two people have been charged with misdemeanor shoplifting and conspiracy after they were caught allegedly trying to steal $780 worth of merchandise from Wal-Mart, 1015 N. Loyalsock Ave., Montoursville, on July 16, according to borough police.
Shana Breann Gehron, 20, of 1642 Catherine St., and Justin Lee Fink, 33, of Sweet Valley, Luzerne County, were nabbed trying to steal from the store 27 DVDs, body wash and 10 articles of clothing, police alleged in court papers.
Also at Wal-Mart, Stanley Roy Baldwin, 62, of Canton, was charged with allegedly trying to steal $549 worth of merchandise on Aug. 17, the same day he allegedly fled Lowe’s, next door, with $500 worth of merchandise, police said.
In a fourth shoplifting case at Wal-Mart, Ashley Ann Bryant, 28, of 4808 Route 287, Jersey Shore, was charged with misdemeanor shoplifting after she was caught allegedly trying to steal $57 worth of merchandise on July 20. This is her second offense, police said.
All four people have been sent summonses to appear before District Judge Gary W. Whiteman.
Others charged with shoplifting at various businesses and the police departments involved included:
Jamison Cory Markham, 21, of 1718 Randall Circle; state police; caught allegedly trying to steal $62 worth of clothes from Kmart, 1915 W. Third St., on Aug. 5; sent a summons to appear before a district judge.
Aaron Michael Williams, 19, of 1539 Northway Road; state police; caught allegedly trying to steal $31 worth of clothes from Kmart on Aug. 5; sent a summons to appear before a district judge.
Paul R. Lusk, 72, of 944 Broad St., Montoursville; city police; caught allegedly trying to steal $34 worth of merchandise from Wegmans, 201 William St., on June 10; free on $1,500 bail.
