Instances of shoplifting alleged
Christopher F. Proctor, 21, of 203 College Ave., and Maria G. Younmans, 19, of 1524 Mount Carmel St., have been charged by Montoursville police with misdemeanor shoplifting after they were nabbed allegedly trying to steal $247 worth of merchandise from Wal-Mart, 1015 N. Loyalsock Ave., on Aug. 23.
The two have been sent summonses to appear before District Judge Gary A. Whiteman.
In another shoplifting case, state police have charged Jeremy Scott Masser, 25, of 6406 Route 42, Unityville, with two counts of shoplifting stemming from incidents at Kmart, 1915 E. Third St.
Police have accused Masser of stealing $39 worth of merchandise on June 30 and then returning to the store two days later when he was caught trying to leave the business with $129 worth of merchandise. He also had in his possession drug paraphernalia. He also has been sent a summons to appear in court.
