Lawrenceville man charged with assault
ELKLAND – Jeffrey D. Harrison, 26, of 48 Mechanic St., Apt. 3, Lawrenceville, was charged by state police with aggravated assault, simple assault, theft, disorderly conduct, harassment and criminal mischief following a domestic disturbance Oct. 1, at his former girlfriend’s residence.
According to documents filed at District Judge Brian Edgcomb’s office, Harrison assaulted his former girlfriend while he was at the house to spend the night, the two still being friends.
She said she awoke to find him trying to have sex with her and she refused and he left.
After she followed him downstairs, he reentered the residence and began assaulting her on the couch, choking her and causing her to black out, police said.
When she regained consciousness and freed herself, he kicked over the TV stand, breaking the side door and knocking a 60-inch flatscreen TV to the ground.
He allegedly shoved her down and hit her with a closed fist. Before fleeing the scene he took her house phone and cellphone battery so she could not call police.
Harrison was jailed in lieu of $20,000 bail and his preliminary hearing set for Oct. 24.
