Lycoming Township man accused of theft

A Lycoming Township man faces theft-related charges for allegedly stealing his mother’s credit debit card and using it to withdraw money from her account, city police said.

Lance Jordan Barr, 24, of 30 Kinley Drive, also is accused of stealing $35 from the office of Barr’s Hardware, 1254 W. Fourth St., on Oct. 4, police said.

Police allege Barr stole the debit card from his mother, Joanne Barr, in mid-August and then used it to withdraw from her account $40 on Aug. 12 and $60 on Aug. 16. Also on Aug. 16, Barr is alleged to have attempted to withdraw another $100 from the account.

The card was illegally used at an ATM in the 1100 block of West Fourth Street, police said.

Following his arraignment Tuesday before District Judge James Carn on charges of theft, receiving stolen property and access device fraud, Barr was released on $11,000 bail.
