MANSFIELD – Jeremy C. Oberther, 24, of 26 East Country Lane, Wellsboro, was charged by state police with fraud, forgery, deception or subterfuge after he allegedly stole another person’s prescription drugs and tried to have the prescription refilled when it was gone.
According to documents filed at District Judge James Carlson’s office, Oberther tried to have a prescription belonging to Shirley Conrad for 60 Xanax pills filled at the Wal-mart pharmacy Aug. 9.
Police said he originally took the pills during a burglary of the Conrad residence in Tioga Borough on Aug. 8. He was issued a summons to appear at an Oct. 16 preliminary hearing.
