University student charged with stealing books
MANSFIELD – Tyrone C.A. Roberts, 18, of Bristol, was charged by university police here with theft and receiving stolen property for allegedly taking text books from his roommate.
According to documents filed at District Judge James Carlson’s office, Roberts took three textbooks and a day planner that Anthony Kanuk had left in a common hallway of Oak Hall Sept. 2.
The estimated value of the books was $365.
Police said Roberts was captured on video surveillance taking the books.
He was issued a summons to appear at a Nov. 7 preliminary hearing.
