2 men face drug charges
MANSFIELD – Two men face drug charges as the result of an investigation that began in May.
According to documents filed at District Judge James Carlson’s office, Christopher J. Call, 24, and Drew McBratney, 41, also of 24 1/2 N. Academy St., Mansfield, were charged by Montoursville state police recently following an incident May 24 at the residence, Call with possession of a small amount of marijuana for personal use and McBratney with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police had made arrangements to purchase a pound of marijuana in an undercover buy from Mark Polyansky, 24, of Northampton, via phone and text.
They would meet at Call’s residence to make the buy. When they met, Polyansky told the officer he only had a half pound and handed over a number of vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana.
He also gave a jar of marijuana to his then-roommate, Call.
Polyansky then opened up another jar to allow the trooper to smell it.
The price of $2,000 was agreed upon and the trooper went to the car allegedly to get the money, but called the barracks to tell them he had made the deal.
Troopers then went to the apartment and arrested Polyansky, Call and McBratney, and confiscated the backpack containing the pot, a smaller amount of the drug and a pot pipe known as a hookah, with four hoses attached for multiple users.
Call and McBratney were issued summons to appear at a Nov. 27 preliminary hearing.
Manufacture, delivery, intent to deliver, and possession of marijuana and criminal use of a communication facility charges against Polyansky were filed in May and his case is in the county court system.
