Man charged with assault, harassment
RALSTON – A 30-year-old man has been charged by state police for assaulting his wife’s boyfriend while on state parole for illegal transfer of firearms, state police said.
Aaron R. Meacham, 30, of 11194 Route 14, Ralston, allegedly struck Adam Chapman on July 7 after Meacham’s wife, Kathryn, brought Chapman to the Meacham home.
When Mrs. Meacham and Chapman arrived at the house, Mr. Meacham exited his house and forced open Chapman’s car door, striking him in the face several times and damaging the hinges on the door, state police said in an affidavit.
Chapman then left the scene while Mrs. Meacham remained, suffering a small cut on her knee during the incident.
Meacham, jailed in the Berks County Prison on a parole violation, was arraigned Wednesday on charges of simple assault, criminal mischief and harassment by District Judge James H. Sortman and committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bail.
