Man on probation accused of stealing jewelry
A man on probation for a drug conviction has been arrested on charges of stealing jewelry from a home, where he was allowed to state as a guest, according to state police.
Jeffrey Gene Farnsworth, 38, allegedly stole $1,600 worth of jewelry from Wendy Jo Neufer’s home at 1628 Marlin Parkway sometime in early June, police said.
“He had been staying at the house for a short period of time and had gone missing when the jewelry was stolen,” a state trooper said in an affidavit.
Police also allege that Farnsworth, who has no permanent address, sold the jewelry to a coin and precious metals business.
Charged with theft, receiving stolen property and theft by deception, Farnsworth has been arraigned before District Judge Gary A. Whiteman and committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.
