Montoursville 18-year-old accused of identity theft
A man with a criminal history faces charges of identity theft and related offenses for allegedly making unauthorized purchases online with credit card information he obtained through illegal means, Old Lycoming Township police said.
Sometime between Aug. 30 and Sept. 16, Kyle W. Thompson, 18, of Montoursville, allegedly spent $4679 worth of merchandise on Amazon.com using credit card information belonging to victim Melissa Pfirman. The items included an Xbox video game system and game credits, a dirt bike, a watch and other jewelry, court documents alleged.
Following a recent preliminary hearing before District Judge James H. Sortman on charges of identity theft, access device fraud and theft by deception, Thompson was released on $15,000 bail.
