Police: Employee stole from Snyder Farms
Joshua Allen Rhoades, 28, of 1249 Freed Place, is accused of stealing money from Snyder Farms in Fairfield Township on Sept. 26, state police said.
Donald Snyder of Snyder Farms reported the incident after viewing surveillance footage that revealed a man taking money from the cash box in which patrons of Snyder Farms leave their money when buying corn. The footage also revealed the plates of a getaway truck operated by an unknown woman, court documents said.
After reviewing the footage, state trooper Troy Hansen traced the truck’s registration to Rhoades’ father, who provided information about his son’s whereabouts. Trooper Hansen then traveled to Rhoades’ residence for questioning and identified him as the same man in the surveillance footage. Rhoades admitted to being present at Snyder Farms on the date of the alleged offense, but did not admit to taking money, said police in an affidavit.
Rhoades has been sent a summons to appear Monday before District Judge Gary W. Whiteman for theft-related charges.
