2 accused of shooting mailboxes while DUI
TOWANDA – Two men were charged with reckless endangering another person after they allegedly went on a drinking and shooting spree while driving Saturday.
According to state police here, Lee M. Hatch, 25, of Rome, also was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants, criminal mischief, illegal possession of firearms, careless driving and restriction on alcoholic beverages.
His passenger Mark D. Thetga, 24, also of Rome, also was charged with unsworn falsification to authorities, criminal mischief, and restriction on alcoholic beverages.
Police said the two had been drinking beer while driving on Buck Road, Windham Township and they shot at three mailboxes of residences on the road, and Hatch had spun his tires and drove recklessly before being stopped.
