Alleged rock throwing leads to charges

MANSFIELD – Dylan M. Hairston, 18, of Delosa Drive, Lot 17, was charged with defiant trespass, criminal trespass, harassment and disorderly conduct by borough police after he allegedly threw rocks at a love interest’s window Dec. 1.

According to documents filed at District Judge James Carlson’s office, Hairston went to 122 S. Academy St. Dec. 1, a residence of a 16-year-old female whom he said had given him permission to come there to visit her.

The girl told police she did not want Hairston there and that he had called her more than 30 times during the day from several different phone numbers and that he showed up and began throwing rocks at her window and brandishing a black object in his hand in a threatening manner.

A few days earlier, on Nov. 29, police were dispatched to the residence for an unwanted individual at the residence.

Owner Sharon Davies told police that she had allowed Hairston to temporarily stay at her home because he was homeless and it was extremely cold outside, but he had said he was going to sneak out with her 16 year-old granddaughter and she said he was no longer welcome on the property.

Hairston was jailed in lieu of $1,500 bail and his preliminary set for Dec. 18.
