Impersonating a public servant alleged of woman

WELLSBORO – Martha J. Grant, 36, of 2064 Dean Hill Road, was charged by borough police with impersonating a public servant after she allegedly identified herself as representing the District Attorney’s office.

According to documents filed at District Judge Rob Repard’s office, Grant was charged after she allegedly pretended to be with the DA’s office during phone calls to staff at the Soldiers and Sailors Hospital, where her estranged husband was a patient on Nov. 7.

Police said she called the hospital several times identifying herself as Jennifer with the DA’s office and advised staff that her husband was not allowed to leave the state. She also allegedly made several false food orders for him, and told police she did it as “payback.”

She was issued a summons for a Dec. 19 preliminary hearing.
