Montoursville man, 21, charged with theft
Derek Robert Kessler, 21, of 1204 Weldon St., Montoursville, has been charged with allegedly stealing two GPS units from another man’s vehicle, according to state police.
Kessler is accused of taking the GPS units from a vehicle owned by Dustin M. Logan after Logan had given him a ride from McIntyre Township to the city one day earlier this year.
During the ride, Logan stopped at two places to do an errand, leaving Kessler in the car, police were told. Only after dropping Kessler off in the city did Logan realize that two GPS units he had in the vehicle were missing, police said.
Following his recent arraignment before District Judge James H. Sortman on charged of theft and receiving stolen property, Kessler was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.
