Police: Woman stole rifle from brother to buy heroin
MANSFIELD – Jamie L. Levindoski, 24, of 2151 Welch Mountain Road, Covington, was charged by state police after she allegedly took a rifle from her brother and sold it to buy heroin.
According to documents filed at District Judge James Carlson’s office, Levindoski, who lived with her brother, Dereck Makely, at the residence, was charged with theft and receiving stolen property after she allegedly went into her brother’s room without his permission on Oct. 17 and took his Sears 30.06 rifle.
She then took it to Niles Guns and Gold, Wellsboro, police said, and sold it for $150, telling the owner there that she was leaving the next day for rehab in Florida.
Instead, police said, she used the money to buy heroin.
She was released on $2,500 bail, waived her Nov. 25 preliminary hearing and her county court arraignment was set for Dec. 16.
