Police: 19-year-old blames crime on peer pressure

Claiming she did it because of peer pressure, a 19-year-old employee has admitted she intentionally “distracted management” while allowing “friends” to steal nearly $3,000 worth of merchandise from the Weis store at 620 W. Third St., city police said.

Autumn Storm Harman, of 617 Park Ave., has been charged with felony theft and receiving stolen property for allegedly allowing friends to steal health and beauty products, snacks and cigarettes from the store.

Court records report the thefts were discovered earlier this month, but investigators said it was believed that they had been occurring “for several months.”

Following her recent arraignment before District Judge Jon E. Kemp, Harman was released on $10,000 bail.
