Police: Hepburn Street crash leads to discovery of heroin

A 19-year-old driver who briefly fled the scene of a crash on Hepburn Street was arrested and jailed after city police discovered 200 bags of heroin in his front pants pocket soon after he returned to the scene, according to court records.

Amin Tyrick Mitchell, of Philadelphia, was charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia after he was taken into custody in the 1000 block of Hepburn Street about 11 a.m. Jan. 13.

Arraigned before District Judge Allen P. Page III, Mitchell remains jailed in the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $150,000 bail.
