Police seek person who left dog in cage
WELLSBORO- State police are searching for the person or persons responsible for leaving the young mixed-breed dog to freeze to death in a pet carrier alongside Cummings Creek Road in Farmington Township.
What was believed to be a female puppy was found by a passerby on Sunday, said Wendy Reber, Animal Care Sanctuary manager.
Reber said the dog was about a year old and that results of a Friday necropsy would be given to the state police.
The dog did not have a microchip, but the crate was marked “ASPCA” and it had a bar code so it may be able to be traced, she said.
“Our primary interest is to bring the killers to justice,” Reber said.
