Jersey Shore man admits to robbery
A Jersey Shore man pleaded guilty in Lycoming County Court Friday in the robbery of a Family Dollar store.
Chadwic Timothy Moriarty, 25, of 497 Tombs Road, admitted he robbed the Lycoming Creek Road business last August.
Moriarty entered the store just after it opened and with a gun and ordered the female cashier to hand over money, according to police reports.
After the cashier became too distraught to follow his order, Moriarty collected $297 from the cash register himself while leaving the gun on the counter.
A struggle later ensued for control of the weapon.
Moriarty eventually fled the store and later was tracked down in Wildwood Cemetery.
Lycoming County Judge Marc Lovecchio set a sentencing date for 10 a.m. May 6.
