Police: Teen in trouble again
A teenage boy arrested last year in the city on charges of burglary and firearms violations is in trouble once again with the law, city police said.
The 17-year-old boy was arrested late Tuesday following a brief foot pursuit with officers in the 800 block of Hepburn Street, police said.
During the pursuit, the boy was seen tossing an object over a fence, police said. That object, which was quickly recovered by officers, turned out to be a loaded handgun, police said. Police still are trying to determine who owned the weapon and if it was stolen.
The teen, who will be petitioned into juvenile court on a charge of illegal possession of a firearm, has been committed to the juvenile detention center in Wellsboro, police said.
