Woman allegedly yells at, strikes son

JERSEY SHORE – A woman has been charged with simple assault and harassment after allegedly yelling at and striking her 13-year-old son.

Jessica L. Baird, 31, of 578 Nices Hollow Rd., Jersey Shore, allegedly grabbed her son’s face and yelled at him while he was at her home on the morning of Feb. 3, prior to driving him to school, according to an affadavit.

When the two were in Baird’s vehicle later, the victim told her he wanted to get out and started to open the door. Baird allegedly told him that “she would strangle him,” and then put her hands around his neck while she was still driving.

Tiadaghton Valley Regional Police Captain Martin Jeirles confirmed that he saw several scratches to the victim’s face and shoulder, according to the affadavit.

Baird has been sent a summons to appear before Judge Jerry C. Lepley.
