Man charged with possession of heroin

MANSFIELD – Chancy L. Decoursey, 30, of 224A Catlin Hollow Road, Wellsboro, was charged by state police with possession of heroin recently.

According to documents filed at District Judge James Carlson’s office, Decoursey was charged on Feb. 25 following a vice/narcotics unit methamphetamine investigation during an undercover drug and cash trade for meth with Craig L. Fassett at the Wal-Mart in Richmond Township May 16.

During the meeting, state police arrived on scene to take him into custody of Fassett, who had a cigarette package containing about five packages of meth.

Police said they also found 14 bags of heroin after searching Fassett. He was taken into custody and the car’s driver, Decoursey, also was taken into custody.

Decoursey claimed he was just giving Fassett a ride to Wal-Mart and while on the way he obtained two bags of heroin.

During a search of the vehicle, police said they found a straw and two partially used bags of heroin in the center console of the car.

Decoursey was issued a summons to appear at a March 26 preliminary hearing.
