Township police arrest man on 26-year-old warrant
A man wanted in Texas for a 1988 burglary was nabbed Saturday by Old Lycoming Township police, Police Chief William Solomon said.
When Officer Ken Brown conducted a vehicle stop at Lycoming Creek Road and Vesta Avenue for an expired registration about 4:55 p.m. Saturday, he encountered Scott M. Reeder, 49, of Williamsport, whom he subsequently learned was wanted on a 26-year-old warrant out of Texas.
After learning of the arrest, the Texas State Board of Parole requested full extradition of Reeder for the burglary charge and parole violations.
Following his arraignment before District Judge Jerry C. Lepley, Reeder was committed to Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $1,000,000 bail and is awaiting extradition back to Texas.
