Woman jailed for allegedly having sex with 13-year-old boy

A Northumberland county woman has been arrested for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old a boy – a relationship the boy’s mother discovered while reviewing a series of Facebook and text messages, according to state police.

Cheyenne S. Caldwell, 18, of the 100 block of High Street, Milton, has been charged with aggravated indecent assault, statutory sexual assault and indecent assault, Trooper Angela Bieber said.

The mother discovered Facebook messages and text messages Caldwell allegedly sent to her son that were “sexual in nature,” Bieber said in an affidavit.

When she confronted her son, the boy admitted to her that he and Caldwell had engaged in sex, Bieber said.

The mother then sent a text message to Caldwell, asking her what happened, and Caldwell responded with a text that read ‘We had sex,’ ” Bieber said.

The encounter allegedly occurred in Loyalsock Township in late November, Bieber added.

While the 13-year-old has admitted to investigators that he and Caldwell had a sexual relationship, Caldwell has refused to be questioned by police, Bieber said.

Following her arraignment Tuesday before District Judge Gary A. Whiteman, Caldwell was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $15,000 bail.
