More charges against alleged shoplifter
Repeat shoplifter and Lycoming County Prison inmate Lenzy Hunter III faces a new charge of possession of marijuana after a corrections officer discovered a bag of the controlled substance on the 46-year-old city man one week after his incarceration, according to the county district attorney’s office.
Hunter, of 844 W. Third St., was found to have a marijuana in his possession during a routine “cell block sweep” on March 10, investigators said.
A week earlier, he has been jailed on a felony shoplifting charge in lieu of $15,000 bail after fleeing the Family Dollar, 1221 W. Fourth St., with $86 worth of merchandise, city police said. He was nabbed a few blocks from the store.
Following his recent arraignment before District Judge Allen P. Page III on the drug charge, Hunter was recommitted in lieu of an additional $1,000 bail.
