Admitted heroin addict facing more charges

Admitted heroin addict and accused robber Jason Thomas Talini was taken from the Lycoming County Prison on Tuesday afternoon and charged with allegedly robbing two clerks at the Family Dollar Store on Lycoming Creek Road last Friday, according to Old Lycoming Township police.

Already incarcerated on charges for his alleged involvement in two city holdups; one at the Moon Mart at 1431 High St. on Sunday and another at the Cinema Center, 300 W. Fourth St., on Monday afternoon, Talini was arraigned before District Judge James H. Sortman on township police charges of robbery, terroristic threats, unlawful restraint and related offenses.

During the 3:30 p.m. robbery at the Family Dollar, Talini allegedly threatened to stab one of the employees “in the guts” with a large knife, police were told. Talini is alleged to have stolen cash from two registers, police said.

Upon his capture, Talini, 39, of 864 Second St., admitted to committing the robberies to support his heroin addiction, police said..

Following Tuesday’s arraignment, he was recommitted to the prison in lieu of an additional $250,000 bail.
