2 arrested after allegedly OD’ing

Responding to a report of a suspected drug overdose in an upstairs apartment at 325 Clayton Ave. during the early-morning hours of April 13, state troopers found Brooks Alexander Borgess and Nathan Edward Fry passed out on the living room floor.

In plain view on a coffee table were five packets of heroin and two spoons with heroin residue on them, police said.

“Borgess was ashen in color and barely breathing,” a trooper said.

In addition to police, paramedics also were dispatched to the apartment.

As paramedics began working on the 24-year-old Borgess, Fry regained consciousness but was “very disoriented,” police said.

Fry, 22, of 1129 E. Third St., was “wearing two pairs of pants and he had on him six packets of heroin and six Xanax pills with no prescription for the drug,” a trooper said.

While Borgess, of 1221 Wheatfield Drive, Loyalsock Township, was rushed by ambulance to the Williamsport Regional Medical Center, Fry was taken into custody because there was a warrant for his arrest, charging him with drug offenses, police said.

Borgess recovered and was discharged from the hospital. He and Fry have been charged with possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia.

While Borgess is free on $15,000 bail, Fry, whose bail was $25,000, remains behind bars at the Lycoming County Prison’s pre-release center on another criminal matter.
