Man accused of stealing scrap metal

JERSEY SHORE – Justin Lee Reighard, 33, of 1304 Walnut St., has been charged with theft, receiving stolen property and attempted theft for allegedly stealing nearly $700 worth of scrap metal from R. P. Machinery Sales Inc., 175 Old Route 220, between Jan. 10 and Jan. 15, state police said.

Reighard also is alleged to have tried to steal eight industrial batteries and a large amount of wire from the business during that same time, police said.

Following his arraignment before District Judge Jerry C. Lepley, he is free on $7,500 bail.
