2 accused of stealing jewelry at family picnic
A “family picnic” on July 4 at Michelle Long’s home on Nicely Avenue in Montoursville turned into a crime scene after two guests, her niece and the relation’s boyfriend, allegedly stole $3,600 worth of jewelry, borough police said.
The niece, Carly Brooke Shuman, 21, of Mechanicsburg, and her boyfriend, Jacob Dalton Englebright, 22, of Summerdale, allegedly stole the jewelry from Long’s bedroom at 1214 Nicely Ave. and then sold it at a pawn shop in Mechanicsburg, police said.
Shuman and Englebright, both admitted addicts to pain medication, have been arraigned before District Judge Gary A. Whiteman on charges of theft and receiving stolen property. The two are free on $25,000 bail each.
